Ask Cheryl: Permanent Makeup

Q: I am blond with light eyebrows and I am interested in permanent makeup but I don’t want to look fake or overdone; thoughts??

A:  I hear you; we have all seen eyebrows that look like they have been drawn on with a crayon in the wrong shape or color.

Luckily, there are new techniques for semi-permancent makeup resuting in a totally natural look in shades that are perfect for individual hair and skin tones.

Other popular uses of permanent makeup are for upper or low lid liner, and for natural lip color.

Permanent makeup is actually semi-permanent, in that it lasts up to 5 years, at which point you can have it touched up or let it fade away.

If you have light brows and lashes, are tired of applying make up, are active in sports, have allergies to ordinary makeup, wear contact lenses or glasses or are just too busy to worry about makeup, then permanent makeup is a great option to consider! At SkinHealth Centers, our technicians perform a the procedure called micropigmentation in which pigment is embedded beneath the skin to add permanent color.  It is also done by hand to ensure optimal results.
