Why PRP?

The platelets in the blood have proven effective in the use of anti-aging and skin rejuvenation techniques. There are numerous growth factors in the platelets (proteins that stimulate wound healing); when these growth factors are released from the PRP, they can improve wrinkles in the skin, face and neck, and they also improve the skin’s overall texture and elasticity.

Platelet-rich plasma is derived from a patient’s own blood using a multi-step process:

  • A small sample of blood is collected from the patient

  • The sample is then spun through a sterile centrifuge, separating it into its individual components

  • During this process, the plasma, or liquid portion of the blood, is infused with platelets, which contain beneficial growth factors, creating PRP

  • The PRP is extracted from the rest of the blood sample

Once the PRP is absorbed into the skin, the growth factors aid in the generation of new tissues and have multiple benefits for the skin, including:

  • Smoothing and tightening visible signs of aging

  • Reducing the appearance of skin imperfections

  • Restoring a more youthful look by increasing circulation
