SkinHealth's Anecdote for Winter Skin Care

1. Protect. Protect, Protect Against UVA Rays– with a Good Broad Spectrum SunScreen

UVA rays, which are equally strong in the winter and can penetrate glass, are major cause of skin cancer and photo-aging (brown age stops, sagging skin, wrinkles).  There are several ingredients to look for in a sunscreen to protect against UVA rays

•           Micronized Zinc Oxide

•           Micronized Titanium Oxide

•           Avobenzone (Parsol 1789)

SkinHealth has sunscreens with each of those ingredients so you can choose the one you prefer. (Note from Cheryl: “My personal preference is micronized zinc oxide. In my opinion, it is the most protective.”)

We are all used to using SPF as a guide to choosing a sunscreen. That’s important to protect against UVB rays or sunburn in the summer.

2. Repair with Topical Antioxidants

Antioxidants in right formulation and concentration of A, E, C, green tea, CoQ10 vitamins can nourish and rejuvenate your skin

3. Retinol – Topical Vitamin A

4. Gylcolic Acid in the evening to remove dead skin cells

SkinHealth physicians also recommend a series of in-office services including microdermabrasion, chemical peels, hydrasonic skin therapy, that will further exfoliate and enhance the formation of new skin cells.
