Ask Cheryl: What is Laser Hair Removal

Q: Can you please tell me about Laser Hair Removal?

A: Laser Hair removal works by using light energy to permanently disable the hair follicles while leaving other tissue untouched.

Since hair grows in cycles, several treatments are required.  Any hairs that are in the active growth phase will be disabled by the laser.  The remaining dormant hairs should be treated at a later date, usually in 4 to 6 weeks.

All areas of the body can be treated.

The most popular areas for women are the underarms, bikini area, and legs.

For men, the back, chest, and the shoulders.

Many people who have laser hair removal are incredibly happy with the results, but as with other laser procedures, make certain to select an experienced healthcare professional for optimal results.
