IPL Skin Rejuvenation
IPL, Intense Pulsed Light, technology can be used to help restore the skin's youthful appearance.

IPL Photofacials improve the appearance of photoaged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries or rosacea. The process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects.
The gentle, non-ablative treatments use broad spectrum light to treat the face, chest, neck and hands—virtually anywhere that sun damage shows.
IPL laser treatments are extremely effective at treating:
brown age spots
freckles and sun spots
broken blood vessles
rosacea
IPL removes the unwanted redness and brown spots on your skin, taking years off your appearance. A side benefit of IPL, is a reduction of fine lines and improved skin texture. The heat generated by the treatment stimulates skin
cell growth and enhances collagen production, resulting in clearer, smoother, younger-looking skin.
Patient Satisfaction
Several appealing qualities of IPL Skin Treatments using Photorejuvenation which result in very high levels of patient satisfaction.

Every year, millions of patients visit the dermatologist office complaining of skin problems including fine lines and wrinkles, persistent red complexion, sun spots, acne scars, large pores and other blemishes. Intense pulsed light is a non-ablative technique to treat the above described conditions and is also called photorejuvenation, photofacial, or fotofacial.
How does IPL Photo rejuvenation work?

|
Optimally-filtered pulsed light targets the lesion, destroying it and causing it to disappear.

The IPL hand piece delivers high intensity pulses of broadband light that is different from the narrow band light of lasers. IPL, which stands for intensed pulsed light, is non-ablative meaning that is does not damage the surface of the skin. The intense light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis) and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin (epidermis) untouched.
IPL targets both vascular lesions such as spider veins as well as pigmented lesions such as brown age spots. The thermal effect of IPL also causes production of new collagen, leading to improvement in wrinkles.
What are IPL’s advantages?
As discussed above, IPL does not damage the skin surface. Therefore, there is virtually no recovery time. Treatments take approximately 30-45 minutes. Patients can apply makeup before leaving the office and return to work the same day. There is also minimal pain with IPL.
For best results, at least 3 treatments, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, are needed.
What should I expect after treatment?
Immediately after treatment, you can expect a mild sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling. This usually lasts 2-24 hours and can be soothed with cold gel or ice packs if necessary.
Typically, a few visits will be necessary to treat sunspots, rosacea, and vessels.
Sunspots/Sun Damage: The sunspots will darken after treatment and be naturally shed from the skin within 1-2 weeks.
Rosacea: Skin tone will typically benefit from less pronounced redness within a week after treatments.
Spider Veins: Vessels may disappear after treatment or they may appear darker and then fully or partially fade within 10-14 days.
