Ask Cheryl | BOTOX for Underarm Sweating

Woman walking in a sweater along the waterfront

Q. I seem to sweat much more than other people.  My shirt constantly have wet underarm stains, and I have to change shirts a couple times of a day.

One of my friends suggested BOTOX???

A.
Actually, yes!  BOTOX® can be very helpful for men and women who have severe underarm sweating, or hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is a condition where the sweat glands are overactive.

Botox is injected into the skin in the armpits, which temporarily blocks the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.  When the nerves don’t receive the signals, severe sweating is significantly reduced.  Results usually last for up to 6 months.

Some people have this treatment on a routine basis, and others choose to have treatment to boost their confidence before special occasions.
